The NFL did Eagles fans a great favor this week. Thursday night’s win to start three consecutive divisional games (with a bye week) allowed fans to rest up, catch their breath, and prepare for one of the most important dates on the calendar.
Yep, it’s Dallas week.

Eagles vs Cowboys – Heated Rivalry
For the fourth consecutive season, the rivals will meet on Sunday Night Football, under the lights at Lincoln Financial Field. The games have been high-profile, featuring exciting finishes, electrifying plays, and sometimes a Pro Bowler dissing a former President.
Yeah, this game is gonna be a bit weirder. Both teams look atrocious, racked with injuries. Some fans are calling for the contest to be “flexed out” for the Ravens-Steelers tilt on the other side of the Commonwealth.
In addition to disappearing morale and the defense’s inability to stop anything, now the Boys may be without Andy Dalton under center, following the concussion-inducing blow he suffered by Jon Bostic in the loss to Washington on Sunday. Not only will this affect the competitive aspect of the game, but it’s also keeping the NJ online sports betting apps from offering early prices on the game.
As of Wednesday afternoon, here are some of the Eagles vs Cowboys odds we’ve run into:
FOX Bet, FanDuel, Points Bet, and PlaySugarHouse all have the game priced at Eagles -7.5.
Sunday night, I saw DraftKings had listed the game as Eagles -6.5 but continues to change. As of Wednesday, DK and BetMGM didn’t have the game available.
“I don’t expect much more movement as far as the Eagles being a bigger favorite,” said DraftKings’ Johnny Avello. “This spread makes even back up closer to a touchdown.”

What we’ve got here is an interesting scenario in the process of oddsmaking. Normally, books shy away from games when a quarterback or other star’s status remains in question. Currently, with Dalton in concussion protocol, he may not be solidly in or out all week.
The public had their best week so far this season with a lot of favorites winning on Sunday. If the books want to bounce back and start November off right, this game will be a focal point. Players have backed Dallas consistently this year. The Cowboys are now 0-7 against the spread. The Eagles usually do well with bettors but haven’t been consistent either.
Remember the Eagles-Cowboys 2017 game?
The white-hot birds faced Dallas missing Ezekiel Elliott during his six-game suspension. The Cowboys just got pounded by the Falcons in Atlanta and Dak got sacked eight times. Philly entered 7.5 point favorites. The betting public (only in Nevada at that point) was 90-plus percent on the Eagles.
After a sloppy first half, the offense came alive, the defense scored a touchdown, and an injury to kicker Jake Elliot led to multiple two-point conversions in a 37-9 route.
Some books may open or move the Eagles to -10 or larger.
“The line on that 2017 game may be similar, but the makeup of this game is so different,” Avello said of this year’s game. “Eagles were 9-1 back then and had a much better and healthier team. I don’t believe the public is going to go all in on this one.”
Most have Kansas City as 20-point (or more) faves hosting the Jets.
The books are all more bullish on Philly overall, moving them to favorites in the NFC East divisional markets.
For fans that like the Eagles to cover, might be smart to get in now. If Dalton’s a DNP later this week, that line will grow. I can’t fathom a game this popular will stay off the board all week.
