With the March Madness NCAA Tournament right around the corner, many of the sportsbooks in New Jersey are competing for customer business. As a result, they’re all trying to one-up each other with some sweet welcome offers. We have a separate article up on a roundup of the different options available but for our money, DraftKings Underdog Boost is the top choice.
DraftKings Sportsbook: Underdog Choose Your Boost
DraftKings Sportsbook is offering new customers a bet boost where you can wager as little as $4 and win as much as $256. This is an offer that’s running just this week, so take advantage of it before it’s gone.
The mechanics of the March Madness DraftKings promo work as follows: if you’re a new customer and have never signed up with DraftKings before, you can qualify for this offer. You also have to be a resident of the state of New Jersey and 21 years or older.
When you sign up for a new account and make a deposit, you’ll then be able to bet on one lower seed to beat a higher seed. Choose wisely as you only get to make one choice; you can’t change your selection later. Once you select a team to boost, you’ll get a whopping +6400 boost on it. That means that if you bet $4, you’ll win $256 if they win. You’re free to bet less but the max wager is $4.
This is pretty sweet as the NCAA Tournament is filled with upsets and you can probably find a lower seed that’s favored over a higher seed – in some cases. Study the brackets, keep a close eye on the momentum of the teams and find a matchup where you see value. If you win, DraftKings will make that win 64-times sweeter!
DraftKings $1 Million Bracket Contest
DraftKings Sportsbook has a separate offer for the big dance, which is something you’ll probably be quite familiar with: filling out a bracket. There is $2 million guaranteed and a $1 million top prize, so this is quite the generous offer.
How it works is you simply pick the winners and fill out your bracket as per usual. You don’t have to be perfect for this bracket, though, as the key is simply to finish at the top of the pack. If you do, you’ll earn the top prize. However, even if you miss out, you can still win money as per their paytable (lots of players will finish in the money).
This offer is for DraftKings customers, so make sure you sign up and have an active account, so you can join in the fun!
March Madness Dates Shifted Around
As we get set to wrap-up the conference tournaments this weekend and prepare for Selection Sunday, it’s worth noting that the tournament setup has changed this year. Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, the entire event will be held in Indianapolis, so there won’t be any travel for the teams once they arrive.
In terms of the schedule, normally we see the First Four games take place on Tuesday and then the first and second round of the tournament take place on Thursday through Sunday. However, the dates have been pushed back slightly. The First Four is now on Thursday, March 18th and then the first full wave of games will start on Friday. That means the first weekend of action goes from Friday to Monday, rather than Thursday through Sunday.
It’s going to be a different setup this year but we’ll still have plenty of the regular upsets, drama and emotions that we’re used to seeing in the NCAA Tournament. Make sure you have some funds ready to roll as this is one of the best betting events of the year!
