FOX Bet announced Tuesday a multi-year sponsorship deal with the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles.
This is the first major sponsorship deal for the Eagles with a gaming firm. FOX Bet signed a deal with the Eagles’ neighbors the 76ers in November.
The partnership includes all the signage on media channels and at Lincoln Financial Field we’ve come to expect with similar deals we’ve seen signed.
However, this adds a special feature to gamedays: a 4,000 square foot premium lounge and production studio to host video that will appear in the stadium and across digital media platforms featuring Eagles on-air personality, alumni, and Fox Sports personalities.
Eagles Partner With FOX Bet Adding Fan Interaction
The ground-level space will allow up to 380 fans to mingle pre-game, once fans return to the Linc, with all-inclusive food and beverage options before and after games.
Located near the player’s parking and locker rooms, it will allow fans to see players enter before games and watch post-game press conferences (not sure if this is a great idea after the intruder during Coach Pederson’s presser after the home finale against Dallas last year).
“FOX Bet enhances the fan experience in a big way, and this is a fanbase that knows and appreciates big things,” said Andrew Schneider, CMO, FOX Bet. “They’re passionate, tough and willing to do whatever it takes to win. To connect our offering to this one-of-a-kind fanbase is a game-changer. Eagles fans are going to love this, and we’re honored to have this association with a team that is primed for a successful 2020 season.”
We’ve seen newer stadiums offering fans premium access to players as they enter and exit the field. In a market like Philadelphia, this could obviously be a double-edged sword. Assuming proper security measures will be taken, everyone should remain safe and on their best behavior.
“This new, fully integrated partnership with FOX Bet has enabled us to reimagine the way we deliver content to our fans in a fun and innovative way,” said Catherine Carlson, Senior Vice President of Revenue and Strategy, Philadelphia Eagles.
“Every week during the NFL season, this new interactive studio will bring Eagles fans closer to the game through exclusive access and interviews, football commentary from some of the biggest on-air FOX Sports personalities, and many other surprises along the way. We look forward to growing our partnership with FOX Bet, an industry leader that continues to expand its footprint in the Philadelphia market.”
Like most deals, this will not give FOX Bet the ability to take live-action in a retail location in South Philly. However, most fans attending games will be able to bet via mobile apps.
Added Value in FOX Bet Partnership Deal
FoxBet may get some added value in this deal with the additional events hosted at the Linc. Usually the stadium gets matches from the CONCACAF Gold Cup and is certainly a candidate to host World Cup qualifying matches and some for the 2026 Final slated for North America.
It might get dicey with the collegiate events, like Temple Owls football and the NCAA Lacrosse Final Four (they host it every three years).
The really fun times will be when personalities from Fox Sports come to the stadium and have to face the ire of fans when they pick against Philly.
You thought it was bad when we “booed Santa”? Please. Cowherd would do best to leave the Eagles out of his Blazin Five and stay in LA during Dallas weeks.
