It was a healthy 2-1 NJ sports betting week with our NFL picks as the Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans cashed in for us and our free nfl expert picks. However, the Minnesota Vikings only won by 10 – falling short of the 16 that we needed.
At any rate, with a slew of excellent games on the board this week, let’s take a look at all of the sporting action that awaits us and make some NFL picks.
Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles
Odds: Eagles -4.5 at PointsBet
Date: Sunday, November 3rd
The Chicago Bears won the NFC North with 12 wins last season but right now, they’re dead-last in the division and are lucky to have the three wins in seven games that they do have.
The offense is a complete disaster as at the end of the game, head coach Matt Nagy didn’t trust his team to move in for a closer field goal even though the team had over 40 seconds and a timeout to work with. On top of that, kicking is still an issue as Eddy Pineiro missed a 41-yard field goal for the win.
The Bears have now lost three in a row and have completely lost confidence on offense. Now they’re on the road facing the Philadelphia Eagles, who have had plenty of issues of their own, but got back on track with a big 31-13 win over the Buffalo Bills last week.
Looking ahead to this week, they’re expected to get back wideout DeSean Jackson, which should give their offense a big boost. The Eagles had great balance last week as they piled up 218 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while Carson Wentz compiled 172 yards and a touchdown. The game wasn’t put on his shoulders as he merely made the throws that were necessary.
The Bears defense has had some issues stopping the run as the New Orleans Saints piled up 151 and the Oakland Raiders racked up 169.
I’m expecting the Eagles to get the win and cover here, and get back over .500.
Pick: Eagles -4.5
Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants
Odds: Cowboys -7 at SugarHouse Sports
Date: Monday, November 4th
The Dallas Cowboys return off of their bye to face the New York Giants on Monday Night Football for these free nfl expert picks. It should be an entertaining affair as the Giants have been competitive with Daniel Jones under center – even if the team has lost four in a row.
While I don’t expect the Giants to win here, I am expecting this game to go over the number. The Giants defense has been nothing short of atrocious this season as they’re allowing an average of 30.3 points per game over their last four contests. Teams have moved the ball at will and the Cowboys, who had a chance to get healthy during the off week, should have no problems getting into the 30-point range.
As for the Giants, they’ve had some life with Jones and he’s coming off one of his best games. He was 29-of-41 for 322 yards and four touchdowns at Detroit last week.
I’m expecting points from both teams, so look for this game to get over the number.
Pick: Over 47
Cleveland Browns at Denver Broncos
Date: Sunday, November 3rd
I’m not going to sit here and tell you that the Cleveland Browns are a good team. They’ve been an unmitigated disaster. Baker Mayfield has regressed (six touchdowns, 12 interceptions), Odell Beckham Jr. has disappeared and the team is on pace for a record amount of penalties.
Even so, there’s one reason that they have a good chance to turn things around and at least finish the season well: their schedule.
The Browns have an absolute breeze down the stretch and it starts this week with the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have been competitive this season but Joe Flacco is now out with a “neck injury”, which mysteriously comes a day after he criticized the coaching staff for being too conservative.
Flacco finished the game and looked fine. Now the team will turn to Brandon Allen, a 2016 sixth-round pick who has never thrown a pass in the NFL.
The Browns have had their issues but they’re clearly the better team here. As long as they cut down on the mistakes, they should get their third win of the season against a Broncos team that’s really clueless at this point.
Pick: Browns -2
Other Things To Watch This Week
Washington Nationals at Houston Astros – The World Series has been a wild ride as the Nats won the first two games on the road and then the Astros won three in a row in Washington. The home team has yet to win a game. Can Justin Verlander close it out for the Astros on Tuesday in Game 6?
No. 8 Georgia vs No. 6 Florida – Known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, this is a game that will have a huge impact on the College Football Playoff. The winner of this game likely wins the SEC East division and will play either Alabama or LSU in the SEC Championship. Can Jake Fromm lead the way through a stellar Florida defense?
UFC 244: Masvidal vs Diaz – One of the most anticipated cards of the year is on tap for this weekend as Jorge Masvidal takes on Nate Diaz at Madison Square Garden. These guys are two of the biggest bad-asses in the sport, so this will be a no-nonsense, gritty battle between two excellent fighters.
